FAQs

Lifeguarding Recertification Course

Q: Do I need to provide my current lifeguard certification to complete a lifeguard refresher class?

Yes. Without proof of current certification, you cannot take the refresher class. Please email a copy of your certification card to us at danny.alter@nashville-pmg.com.

Q: Do I have to take the Recertification class before my existing certification expires?

Yes. You can only take the Recertification class if your current certifications are still valid. Certifications must be valid the day the Recertification course begins.

Q: My current certification expires before the Recertification course, what should I do?

You should look for a recertification class that begins before your certification expires. If you can't find one and your certification expires, then you'll have to take the Lifeguarding: Full Certification course again.

Q: What if I can’t make it to all classes?

To get recertified you must attend 100% of the classes. If you don't, you won't be recertified, and no refund will be given.

Q: What is your Cancellation / Transfer Policy?
Once you have paid for the course, you have reserved a spot in the class and potentially excluded others from the class. Course fees are nonrefundable.

Q: Can I choose my pool location/assignment if I come work for you?

If there is a position still available at that pool, absolutely.

Q: Where is my Lifeguarding Recertification course being held?

The in-water portion of all cold-weather courses are held at an indoor pool in the Nashville area.  Warm-weather courses are held at one of the pools that we manage in the Nashville area.  The classroom portion of the course will be held at our office: 1854 Airlane Drive, Suite 3, Nashville.  A week prior to your class starting, you will receive an email with details, including the class location.

Q: Do I have to buy a textbook?

No. All required books and supplies are included in the cost of the course.

Q: What do I need to bring to class?
  • Picture ID that shows your date of birth

  • Swim suit

  • Sunglasses & sunscreen, if class held at an outdoor pool

  • Towels – you will want extras

  • Warm Comfortable Clothing and a second set of clothes

  • Swim goggles (optional)
